Barbara Boxer Blimp

Demon Sheep Fred Davis has struck again, with an online ad I will post to this blog for the same reason that people slow down to look at car crashes. Almost lost in Davis’ oddly vicious humor is how generic the attack is. Also note the chalkboard scratch at 6:13: Wha? So Boxer is like a bad teacher?

Also note that the middle chunk of this video is stolen from another Davis video–Carly Fiorina: The Biography–which is so straightforward that after six weeks it has less than 4,000 page views.  Add a blimp head, and watch the view count rise.

The Phony War: Obama and Romney Are Debating Character, Not Policy

More than five months from Election Day, the back-and-forth about Mitt Romney’s record at Bain already feels played out. Unfortunately, there’s good reason to expect the campaign continues in this vein indefinitely. Neither Barack Obama nor Mitt Romney are terribly interested in dwelling on policy platforms. Romney’s plan to slash spending and keep taxes low on the wealthy isn’t especially popular, at least not at any level of detail beyond a blithe promise to shrink the deficit. Meanwhile, Obama’s signature first-term achievements, like health care, the stimulus and Wall Street reform, are all unpopular or tricky to sell. (The Dodd-Frank bill is the most popular of these, but hyping it means offending wealthy donors.) So what we’re getting instead is a superficial duel about character–and, worse, one that’s based on the largely false premise that the better man can better “manage” the economy back to health.

Boxer is awful. Any US Senator who tries to humiliate a member of the armed services is beneath contempt. When the Senator upbraided the general for calling her ma’am, it would have been great if the general called her what she really is–the “c-word”.

  • Ivy_B

Except for Carly’s family or Boxer haters, who on earth is going to watch this all the way through? I went back to opening a stack of envelopes.

I don’t even think the blimp is clever. Car crash is right.

  • Cliff

Eight minutes long? Who does Davis think has the attention span to watch eight minutes of electioneering nonsense?

  • Cliff

Although the Demon Sheep ad was wonderfully, spectacularly insane.

Kick Boxer away from the public trough! She is an embarrassment to California and to America…..a perfect example of liberalism gone bad.

Can a multi-millionaire who got many of those millions as a golden parachute when she was fired from HP really talk about “those of us who live in the real world”? I’m not interested in appallingly rich people telling me they understand the problems I live with every day. They don’t. Maybe she remembers what it was like to put herself through school, but that was a long time ago.

If you went to the HP campus in Sacramento after Fiorina’s reign, you would have witnessed the fruits of her labor. It was like a blight had hit. She drove the company into the ground.
Fortunately, she is gaining no momentum here in CA.
She was such a disaster in the McCain campaign she had to be kept from appearing as a surrogate for him on TV,
Demon Sheep was funnier. But, this ad has a certain insanity going for it. Fiorina has all that golden parachute money to waste for a vanity run for Senator. So, why not?
    Boxer will be reelected.

And you really are a ….oh well I am too polite to use the word.

  • Paul-no not that one

I thought MS always referred to Davis as a “mastermind”.
    .
At any rate MS please continue your history of posting republican on-line ads. You didn’t miss many during the presidential campaign.

  • apr2563

Paul..So true. How else could we keep up with the Rep propoganda? Michael probably considers it a public service.

  • spob

Perhaps so, but I don’t use my perch to demean people who cannot fight back, which is a very very undesirable personality trait–the “c-word” fits it to a tee.

  • apr2563

spob: Stating this as a woman and I am sure supported by many real men, the “c-word” is never appropriate.

  • freeinpa

Neither was Boxer’s comments. The difference is spob called a woman that he would have hate speech charges filed and be forced to take sensitivity classes. Boxer sits and collects a salary paid for by taxpayers.

  • anon76

spob, you truly are an idiot.

Do me a favor, could you say ‘senator’ instead of ‘ma’am?’ It’s just a thing, I worked so hard to get that title, so I’d appreciate it, yes, thank you.”

This is the language that is so objectionable to you, deserving of the ‘c-word’? This is “demeaning people who can not defend themselves”? Thank god our actual service men and women are not the delicate flowers you make them, or else they’d be reduced to tears every time terrorists made mean faces at them!

  • lcky9

I find the add quite accurate when depicting Barbara Boxer.. following politics I am familiar with her and her insane laps in common sense thinking since she is not my embarrassment I just figure those who keep re-electing her are as a dumb as those in Chicago who keep re-electing Daley.. they must like the pain.. LOL..This is a very good video however it would have to move faster to be a good commercial..BTW I am an independent.. so I would be researching all the allegations stated here about both before making a decision however, I see the same OH WE can’t vote for anyone but more of the same attitude that is the reason that CA is having a exodus of people that actually work and pay taxes..

  • freeinpa

Just another arrogant response from another arrogant liberal. Didn’t see anywhere in her request where she referred to him as General or Sir, I am pretty sure he earned that title.

As usual long on pomp short on substance.

  • apr2563

spob: You truly are an ignorant child. Let me tell you when you call any woman the “c word” you are saying it to all of us. It is as vile as the “n word”. But perhaps you think that word is ok.

  • spob

Guys, Boxer was rude to someone who couldn’t really fight back. What word would you suggest?

  • apr2563

How about you just say you thought she was rude.

  • bobcn1

Sometimes the right wing’s constant insistence on playing the victim just makes them look ridiculous. They frequently try so hard to find something to be offended by that they get caught blowing trivia out of proportion, and they just wind up making themselves look childish. This is one of those times.

  • http://larrymcawful.wordpress.com larrymcawful

Yeah, I know. The woman whose ad is complaining about her opponent being “full of hot air” puts out an ad that lasts for eight minutes? Pot, kettle, black.

  • http://larrymcawful.wordpress.com larrymcawful

In the same breath they call her problem-causer and a do-nothing. They’re just throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks. The Fiorina campaign doesn’t really have an argument to make, but it sure has a lot of money to make it with.

  • earljr1

Boy, talk about grasping for straws. Liberals DEFENDING Boxer, shows a mentality best suited for la la land. Her record is INDEFENSIBLE and yet you portray her as this wonderful, industrious and efficient legislator. I am beginning to think liberals would not know reality if it bit them in the butt!
