Actually, this week’s cover story on Obama’s first year–and the effects of the Massachusetts debacle. I should say that today’s news–a much stronger financial reform push by the President–confirms the hints I was receiving from White House aides. My suspicion is that fundamental health care reform is dead for now, and will be replaced by incremental steps–new regulations for insurers, perhaps the establishment of a national health care exchange and, one hopes, an expansion of coverage, at the very least, to parents of children eligible for the SCHIP program.
