Tom DeLay on Dancing With The Stars

Okay, I’ll come clean: I voted for him. In fact, I didn’t even wait for him to dance before I voted for him. And I would done it more than once, if only I could have figured out how to work the texting function on my BlackBerry by myself. (Instead, I had to turn to Swampkid #2, who refused to send it in for me again and then canceled my vote by casting one of his own for the UFC guy.)

The Phony War: Obama and Romney Are Debating Character, Not Policy

More than five months from Election Day, the back-and-forth about Mitt Romney’s record at Bain already feels played out. Unfortunately, there’s good reason to expect the campaign continues in this vein indefinitely. Neither Barack Obama nor Mitt Romney are terribly interested in dwelling on policy platforms. Romney’s plan to slash spending and keep taxes low on the wealthy isn’t especially popular, at least not at any level of detail beyond a blithe promise to shrink the deficit. Meanwhile, Obama’s signature first-term achievements, like health care, the stimulus and Wall Street reform, are all unpopular or tricky to sell. (The Dodd-Frank bill is the most popular of these, but hyping it means offending wealthy donors.) So what we’re getting instead is a superficial duel about character–and, worse, one that’s based on the largely false premise that the better man can better “manage” the economy back to health.

Audacity of Dope: Tales of a Toking Teenage Obama

We knew Barack Obama smoked weed in high school because he wrote about it in his books. What we didn’t know, until Buzzfeed posted these choice nuggets (I’m so sorry) from David Maraniss’s new book on the President’s younger years, were the giggle-worthy details of his “Choom Gang” lifestyle, which are right out of a buddy stoner flick. Obama and his friends drove around the lush Hawaii countryside, hot-boxing their VW bus and re-upping with a long-haired pizza-tossing dealer named Ray, whom Obama thanked in his yearbook “for all the good times.”

KT-What a heart warming story. Swampkid #2, attempting to save momma from herself and in the process saving all Dancing With The Stars fans from Tom Delay’s fat booty.

Yes, I voted before I saw the clip of him in the Aggie t-shirt. As someone told me on Twitter: Vote in haste, repent at leisure.

No! He must continue! Even if Donny Osmond and whichever Carter brother that was are actually better dancers. Brown, however, was a bad choice. You don’t want a costume that screams: I used to be an exterminator.

Okay, I’ll come clean: I voted for him.
    _
Why? He certainly can’t dance, and has zero entertainment value (unlike Cloris Leachman).

Unless of course you’re doing Flamenco…..

I don’t get it KT. He may be from Texas, but he’s also a bad dancer and a world-class a**hole. Why enable? I’m actually a big fan of his partner Cheryl, but I can’t wait for his big butt to sache off the stage for good.

Karen Tumulty: “Okay, I’ll come clean: I voted for him.”

Now, Time magazine employees can truthfully answer the question: “Has there ever been a Time magazine employee who ever cast a vote for a Republican?”

  • nflfoghorn

I must’ve been asleep when the “you must care about a stupid dance show” train left the station. Instead of talking about his Botox butt, shouldn’t we be asking why DeLay ain’t indicted yet???
