A Tale of Two Economies: Mitt Romney vs. Republican Governors

The great recession has left the state of Ohio battered and bruised–and Mitt Romney would have you believe it’s Barack Obama’s fault. Writing in the Cleveland Plain-Dealer on May 4, Romney advised Ohioans that the President has delivered them “paltry results,” and that their state is in need of “a fundamental change in direction.”

Jane Hamsher is having major problems with Diana Fienstein.

No Prying Eyes: My Visit to DiFi’s

This is all about NO PRYING EYES, it’s not about Jane Hamsher vs. Dianne Feinstein–that’s bullshit, it’s about transparency. It’s about Ms. Feinstein’s untenable position on the public option, which 76% of the American people support and she doesn’t; it’s about her indefensible position on the most important legislation of our life. And most egregious, it’s about the culture of Washington D.C., it’s not just your garden variety bubble, it’s a closed society, and they don’t want No Prying Eyes.

In this closed world, there’s an illusion of transparency–but it’s basically a mirage. Legislation gets posted, for example, but the deals get made behind doors made of steel and cement. I don’t have to tell you that the traditional media rarely if ever ask the relevant questions, rarely if ever put the politicians feet to the fire, because to do so, means loss of access.

Isn’t Congress already really like this?
Or just the music is missing? If they only played background tunes like at a shopping mall (Bachmann Turn Her Overdrive?) ….

Simone Bolivar has liberated your comment, Gunny. But let’s work on that pottymouth.

Except, of course, in this instance:

I’ve followed the auto-tune series from #2. It’s one of the the freshest things to come to YouTube.

Wiki says Jane Hamsher is a contributor to political blogs, so I guess that makes all of us commenters members of the media too. Guess we won’t be getting in to see DiFi anytime soon.

  • Commenter 2B named later

Yes, the auto-tune series is incredible. I can’t stop listening to it. (Really. Someone help me.)
