Bo The Dog Ticker

BREAKING NEWS—FIRST DOG DISRUPTS FIRST FAMILY—BALL BARKING ROUSES BARACK AND MICHELLE—STILL CUTE—BREAKING NEWS

Michelle Obama took questions today from a group of about 160 8- to 12-year-old children, who were visiting the White House as part of a bring-your-child-to-work day. The questions were, taken as a whole, pretty good. What will happen if something bad happened to the country? (Michelle said she would wake up her husband.) What’s your least favorite thing to do in the White House? (Running the tread mill) Do you like cooking for your family even though you have cooks and all that? (“I don’t miss cooking.”) But the big news was about what Bo the dog did last night. To the tape:

Q   Well, what does your dog like to do?

MRS. OBAMA:  What does my daughter –

Q    Your dog.

MRS. OBAMA:  Oh, my dog.  Oh, the dog.  (Laughter.)  Oh, he is a crazy dog.  He — you know, he loves to chew on people’s feet. (Laughter.)  I’ll tell you a story about Bo last night.  It was like 10:00 p.m. at night, everybody was asleep, and we hear all this barking and jumping around, and the President and I came out and we thought somebody was out there.  And it was just Bo.  (Laughter.)  He was playing with his ball.  And it was like there was another person in the house.  He’s kind of crazy.  But he’s still a puppy, so he likes to play a lot.

Rick Santorum Wants to Fight ‘The Dangers Of Contraception’

Candidates often say things when polling in the single digits that come back to haunt them when they start leading the polls. Last October, Rick Santorum gave an interview with an Evangelical blog called Caffeinated Thoughts, in which he said contraception is “not okay,” and that this would be a public policy issue he would tackle as President. In particular, he said he would “get rid of any idea that you have to have abortion coverage or contraceptive coverage” as a government policy. Start watching the following video at 17:55.

Occupy the Regulatory Open Comment Period!

There’s nothing “wrong” with protests built around placard-hoisting and park-squatting, but Occupy the SEC is definitely doing something right with its radically different tack. The OWS-offshoot has submitted a 325-page letter to federal financial regulatory agencies on the Volcker Rule, a controversial measure designed to prohibit banks from proprietary trading, or making investments with their own dollars rather than their customers’, that was passed as part of the Dodd-Frank financial reform law.

Come on MS you can do better than this. There is so much going on and all you can come up with is filler?

Why doesn’t Bo have a twitter account yet!

  • formerlyjames

Barking for no good reason, jumping around and playing crazy after bedtime. Have the Secret Service keep an eye. Bo is displaying repugthug tendencies.

  • formerlyjames

I forgot to mention the feet chewing and display of gross immaturity.

I’m more interested who’s coming out on top in the Pelosi/Stewart fight.

    yoshi
    .
Fight? Pelosi was on with Jon Stewart last week.

Can’t wait for tonight’s Daily Show. I’m betting JS will offer a very limited apology, then watch out. The pols need to remember Stewart thrives on making others look stupid, and he gets to skip even any semblance of journalistic ethics. His job is to get laughs

SG, the little voting controversy found elsewhere on your link. I think it’s in the previous snippet story. Pelosi accuses Stewart of slander, Stewart stands his ground, then they have an interview in which neither of them bring it up.
