Still Waiting on NY-20

As expected, yesterday Democrat Mike Quigley handily won the Chicago congressional seat vacated by Rahm Emanuel. But more than a week after the special election to replace new Senator Kirsten Gillibrand in the House, no winner has been determined because the votes for Democrat Scott Murphy and Republican James Tedisco are virtually tied.

That should change today when more than 6,000 absentee ballots are counted. Nate Silver has taken a look at what parts of the district those absentee ballots come from and thinks they slightly favor Democratic candidate Murphy. Of course, if today’s count yields a definite winner, campaign junkies needn’t despair. We’ll always (?) have Minnesota.
