Birth Control Debate: Why Catholic Bishops Have Lost Their Grip on U.S. Politics—and Their Flock

The clash with the White House over birth control is a reminder of just how much influence the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has lost in the 10 years since the child sex abuse crisis erupted in America.

    Very cool. Ain’t technology grand?

  • 53_3

After 16,000 years, it finally loaded.
    .
It’s worth mentioning that this clearly was not hucked up in their political department.
    .
It seems clear that the likes of Rusty and Hula really do have a misplaced fear of Black Americans taking over government.
    .
    The ‘connections’ tab?
    .
That one’s a bit more suspect. If ‘connected to Tom Daschle’ is the worst of the lot, these guys are going to have to work a lot harder whipping up fear a la Rush Limbaugh.

This is one of the things that digital professor types get all excited about: development that tap existing databases in dynamic and engaging ways. Very, very cool.

If I were fond of, say…wearing tinfoil hats, I’d be really creeped out about the way all of the demographic Pie Charts just kind of…grow…like the gub’mint…jus’ takin’ over ev’r'thin’!!
    .
Cool link, K-Tum. Now got on the case: Obama has only nominated 100 of 488 positions? Slacker.

I can do stuff like this in my sleep. Any decent web/database developer can.
    .
If you had your own blog, and you gave me the data, I’d have this up for you on your site in less than a day.
    .
I hope they didn’t outsource this…the communication back and forth would take 16 times as long as the actual job.
    .
It’s the technology equivalent of somebody playing the intro to “Stairway to Heaven” on guitar, and people exclaiming “Oh my God! I can recognize that song!”.
    .
That said, thanks for the information, it’s definitely worth a look.

    stuartzechman,
Can you whip up a widget that tracks your arrogance, because it would be off the charts right now.

    .
Just right now? BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, boy you have not visited this site much.

  • cdservais

    stuartzechman,
While you’re at it, why don’t you whip up an arrogance meter for rusty too?

  • Cliff

why don’t you whip up an arrogance meter for rusty too?
    .
That would just be a 3X5 notecard with an infinity symbol drawn on it. You’d be better off with a self-parody meter.

They should have a widget that tracks truly laughable speeches in Congress–like this one:

    http://www.redstate.com/jeff_emanuel/2009/03/18/i-dont-know-how-much-overlap-there-is-in-a-venn-diagram-of-florida-grads-and-corrine-brown-d-fl-voters-but/

We could have a top ten list.

  • stuartzechman

    Sorry about the rudeness, folks.
    .
I’ll try to do better next time.

  • rustyreturns

And, how about this little tidbit…

    .
If the Governor didn’t order it, and our dearly loved President didn’t order it, who did??
    .
My first vote, Rahm E. The ballerina turned White House Cheif of Staff. My second vote, Joe E Biden!!

  • 53_3

Spob. On speeches, the top ten list of faux-pas are all filled by John McCain and/or Sarah Palin.
    .
BTW, the “Marriage” Made In Conservative Heaven?
    .
Kaff, kaff, didn’t uh, work. Looks like we have another unwed moother…
