Rahm, Summers, Schiliro On the Hill

Amidst all the auto bailout drama today, Rahm Emanuel, Larry Summers and Phil Schiliro’s visit to the Hill went relatively unnoticed. The three Obama wise men met with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid talking about what the stimulus package might look like when Congress reconvenes next year and other legislative issues expected to come up in January. “Now that Obama has outlined in his radio address what he’d like to see done, this is the first opportunity they’ve had to sit down and flesh out some of these ideas,” a senior Democratic aide said. The three met with Reid in his Senate offices and with Pelosi and a “few other Dem leaders” in her offices, another senior aide said. Both meetings lasted about an hour.
