Hollywood Style GOTV

Alas, my GOTV calling pals at the VA Blue Ridge Lock n’ Load gun club have not sent me any photos, but I did get this cool one from a hip Obama phoner working with the “30Barack” group. This is an Obama phone bank — mostly targeting Nevada I’d suspect– located inside a giant movie soundstage in Los Angeles. All volunteers. Gotta give kudos to Hollywood; I love the dutch camera angle…

At CPAC, Romney Stresses Conservative Credentials

Three days after a trifecta of losses underlined lingering questions about his ability to win over the Republican Party’s base, Mitt Romney arrived at CPAC to allay skeptics’ fears. Throughout his second bid for the GOP nomination, Romney has made his business bona fides the centerpiece of his candidacy. But on Friday, before a packed room at the annual conservative confab, he sought to emphasize the record he compiled in Massachusetts. “I was a severely conservative governor,” he told the crowd. “I know conservatism, because I have lived conservatism.”

CNBC has evidently not gotten the message .. they have just concluded a panel discussion where their political expert said Obama by 7 and 1/2 points and then the panel went on to discuss the implications of an Obama Presidency for certain business segments. Not one word about a McCain Presidency. Exit polling already leaked out?

    mikemurphytime? Is that like ‘Hammertime’?

Another great happening today. Joe the Plumber got eaten alive this afternoon by CNN. Tough questions about why a guy who isn’t making $250,000 a year and probably is nowhere near being able to buy a business or have any potential to make that much in the forseeable future would want lower taxes for those making over $250,000 a year. He replies his stand is based on principals. Couldn’t come up with any other idea, kept on asking his interrogator to look up the definition of principals in the dictionary. Then the CNN guy brought up the fact he makes maybe $37,000 a year, he said more, and he owes $1,800 in taxes and about $1,100 to a hospital. Joe the Plumber said no fair, he should be asking those type questioins to Obama. The CNN guy then replied you have endorsed a candidate, had press conferences, publically campaigned for your candidate, so that makes you fair game for the press. Ouch!!!! Open season on Joe the Plumber..

    Principles not principals. Sorry.

Let’s be clear newfloridian it wasn’t CNN that grilled JTP…it was Rick Sanchez.

Mike, do you mean the “30 million Barack” group? I know this is a bad night for you and you may be somewhat disoriented. Just think of the people at the Guantanamo concentration camp. They won’t get the election news tonight. You are priveleged in that respect.

this was an INTENSE phone bank that was actually a merger of two great groups. 30 Barack and 33 south from District 33 in Los Angeles.
Nevada was one small (but integral) part of our weekend. At any given moment we we switching from Missouri to North Carolina to Iowa, New Hampshire, Virginia, Indiana and by the end they were calling Alaska.
These were some of the most dedicated phone bank workers and callers the world has ever seen. It was an honor and a privilege to have been a part of this incredible massive statewide machine.

FYI, the amazing team of http://www.30barack.com has been working like mad for months. An example: they had 1049 callers volunteer since the SATURDAY BEFORE THE ELECTION. Those volunteers made approximately 117,150 calls in the last 4 days. They were focused on Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, Virginia, Ohio, New Hampshire, Indiana, North Carolina, Florida, and Iowa. Thank you 30Barack team!

I hope dennisdenuto114 is being sarcastic… but just in case he isn’t, I was at that phonebank, and the last time I checked I am a Real American and so were the hundreds of other people there!
