Sarah Palin this morning during a radio interview, via ABC:

If [the media] convince enough voters that that is negative campaigning, for me to call Barack Obama out on his associations, then I don’t know what the future of our country would be in terms of First Amendment rights and our ability to ask questions without fear of attacks by the mainstream media.

With Saturday Victories, Romney Retakes Control of the GOP Narrative

Mitt Romney, the perpetually questioned front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination, had a rough week. Three embarrassing losses to Rick Santorum in Tuesday’s non-binding contests led to questions about Romney’s conservative bona fides just in time for GOP activists, gathering at their annual Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, to collectively grumble about it. But in two narrow, largely symbolic victories on Saturday, Romney reclaimed the headlines. Never mind the details. He was winning again.

There is a typo in your headline, isn’t there? Shouldn’t that be Oaf?

Palin has so egregiously mangled the truth in attacking Obama for his associations that even the generally reticent journalists of the traditional media have exercised their First Amendment right to correct her. And she considers that to be an attack on the First Amendment.

And she again attacks the “Main Stream Media” and Washington D.C. “elites” when the likes of William Kristol and Fred Barnes, both D.C. elites and fixtures of the MSM have been embarrassing themselves in defending her against the knives of McCain campaign hacks.

The fact that Palin is tone deaf to the irony and contradictions in her comments is proof positive of your headline typo.

I’ve so had it with Palin and the McCain campaign generally. I was hoping that once McCain lost she’d be ostracized back to Alaska but it appears that the Republican elders are prepping to groom her for 2012. What does that tell you? Substance doesn’t even run a close second to image in their grand design. They’ll put her through Republican talking point school for the next 4 years and she’ll get a brand new coming out party for the next election. It just goes to show you how enslaved by their base certain portions of the Republican party really is. How they can still think a woman like Palin, who has presented so badly in the last two and half months, is a rising star in their party just makes my head swim.

Poor demented soul. We are dealing with a narcissistic personality.

    From Mayo clinic.com:

Narcissistic personality disorder is a mental disorder in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance and a deep need for admiration. They believe that they’re superior to others and have little regard for other people’s feelings. But behind this mask of ultra-confidence lies a fragile self-esteem, vulnerable to the slightest criticism.

Time to work, not rag on Sarah.

Time for the final push! I live in Austin, Texas. After spending a weekend in Albuquerque canvassing for Obama weekend before last, this evening I joining 49 others for a “Bus Ride for Change” to canvass in Springfield, Missouri, through election day. Springfield, home of the 1906 hanging of 3 Black men, now has barely over 3% African-American and 2% Hispanic/Latino. We may have our work cut out for us in trying to bring Missouri into Obama’s column. Still, this 65-year old is more optimistic about the overall election outcome and the resulting leadership in Washington than I can remember. Be active!

I expect Palin to come back to the national scence if McCain loses next week. And I expect that she will use the next 4 years to prep herself so that she will be able to answer such hard hitting questions as which newspaper she reads or what the Constitutional role of the V.P. is. But will she be able to answer a question coherently? Will she think she can continue to dodge out of press conferences or interviews not moderated by Hannity or O’Reily? I doubt it, so I say bring it on. If Palin is the best the GOP has, then they apparently don’t have much. The clips of her Couric interviews, the SNL skits and association with AIP will haunt her.

  • Casey Morris

See, this is what happens when you get raised in a cult. You come out being really confident that whatever you believe in is right. No matter what it is that you believe in. You don’t need proof. You don’t need evidence. You just need…belief.

  • Joe Bftsplk

Newfloridian, actually there’s something worse than narcissism. Borderline Personality Disorder really does lead people to believe that “Because I did it, it’s right”. Such folk do “splitting” — a 3-year-old’s view that everything and everyone is either ALL good or ALL bad.

For a couple decades now, conservatives have lived in a bubble, which was reinforced by the MSM as they internalized conservative memes. The wisdom of uneducated white guys was held supreme. Anyone who dared point out long term problems this country had to deal w/ were ridiculed as limp wristed frenchies. We were told that the ‘American way of life’ was non negotiable. The pundit class stood and cheered. Anybody who dared suggest that the US was not indestructible was derided as being among the ‘radical left’. The parade is over.
