Wherever John McCain goes, he rails against pork barrel spending, including the millions of dollars that the federal government spends to study the DNA of grizzly bears. “I don’t know if it was a paternity issue or criminal,” the Republican nominee deadpans. And the bear scientists never fight back. They have just silently taken the criticism for months–until now.
