Mike Huckabee’s Wayne Dumond problem seems to be getting bigger. Writing on Huffington Post, Murray Waas has evidence showing that as governor of Arkansas Huckabee was petitioned to block the release of Dumond, a convicted rapist, by several former victims who warned that Dumond would be a threat to society if he was released. Over the years Huckabee has said he supported Dumond’s release because he believed Dumond might have been wrongly convicted and wouldn’t pose a threat to society. Set free in 1999, Dumond went to Missouri, where he promptly raped and murdered a woman — a crime for which he was later convicted and sentenced to life in prison.
