More Dick

I almost posted this clip from the Daily Show in the Jumble, but decided to go with the funnier one. This clip — and interview with Cheney biographer Stephen Hayes — has its moments, but it takes a decidedly serious and person turn towards the end, when Stewart starts demanding that Hayes explain why the Bush administration attacks war critics as traitors. He brings up John Gibson’s bizarre decision to mock Stewart’s post 9/11 monologue last week, and, on the whole, leave little doubt as to his own views on both the war and neocons. But it’s pretty civil.

Stewart has McCain on tonight, I wonder if the questioning will continue in the same vein.

Long-Term Uncertainty Remains in Nuclear Talks with Iran

Anyone banking on a big-win breakthrough in Wednesday’s nuclear talks with Iran will likely find themselves in the same boat as investors who bet on an instant surge in the Facebook stock price last week. If there’s value to be found in nuclear negotiations with Iran, then — like an investment in Facebook — it’s likely to emerge over time. And in both cases, even the long-term outcome remains uncertain.
