• The most helpful advice for those seeking to make sense of last night’s LOGO forum (aka “the gay debate”): “It’s helpful to look at this debate through two lenses: the hopeful lens of the gay community and the skeptical lens of the pundit who is always peering around the corner at the general election,” and a skeptical look at how Hillary did. [Marc Ambinder, and again] (I’ll post my own thoughts on the event later, but the short version: Obama “won,” but Hillary didn’t need to.)

• “Cheney urging strikes on Iran.” I’m shocked. “Cheney…argued for military action if hard new evidence emerges of Iran’s complicity in supporting anti-American forces in Iraq; for example, catching a truckload of fighters or weapons crossing into Iraq from Iran,” Cheney also cited “jay walking,” “not rewinding tapes before returning them to the video store,” and “if they look at us funny.” [McClatchy]

• In other news, porn’s popularity on the internet continues unabated: “In the last few years, 67,000 citizens’ complaints [about obscenity online] have been deemed legitimate under the program and passed on to the Justice Department and federal prosecutors. The number of prosecutions resulting from those referrals is zero.” [NYT ]

• The Obama v. Hillary debate over nuking Pakistan continues. Part XXVI: Who wants to bomb them less? I mean more. I mean, do they even really disagree? Could this whole fake fight simply be about scoring points off of perceptions of Obama’s inexperience? Nahh… [NYT]

• “According to Congressman Sali, the only way the U.S. can continue to survive is under that protective hand of God. He states when a Hindu prayer is offered, ‘that’s a different god’ and that it ‘creates problems for the longevity of this country.’” Funny, that’s kind of like what Islamic extremists believe! [One News Now, via TPM]

• When AP says this: “Romney Adapts Business Plan to Politics” are they referring to this: “Romney’s Cash Beckons Iowans To Straw Poll.” [AP/WP. WP]

• Certain rival campaigns were zapping around a U of Iowa poll yesterday that, shall we say, deviated from the norm. Pollster.com says maybe they shouldn’t have hit “send” so fast. [Pollster]

• You can have your stupid Pearl Jam back. [Billboard]

• The government’s infallible logic: Since you don’t KNOW if we’re eavesdropping on you, you can’t stop us from doing so. A DoJ lawyer “argued that the lawyers [for the Guantanamo plaintiffs] have no proof that their communications were intercepted and therefore don’t have a case. ‘They cannot show or do not know whether they are subject to this activity…It’s possible that their clients were and it’s possible that their clients were not.’” [Threat Level]

• “I guess while I was there, the general attitude was, A dead Iraqi is just another dead Iraqi… when they get home, in dealing with veteran issues and meeting other veterans, it seems like the guilt really takes place, takes root, then.” Veterans recall the war. [The Nation]

• Thanks, Chris, thanks a lot for putting this image in our heads: “I don’t see a big, beefy alternative to [Sen.] Hillary Clinton [D-NY] — a big guy. You know what I mean? An … every-way big guy.” [Media Matters]
