EDITOR’S NOTE: TotT is a daily rundown of significant campaign events, compiled by Katie Rooney. If you have ideas or suggestions on how to make “Today on the Trail” better, please let us know in the comments section.

Former Sen. John Edwards (D-N.C.) is making some noise on the trail today — he’ll be in Nashville, Tenn. hosting his first of two scheduled campaign concerts this month. The concert will feature the Grammy-award winning Bluegrass group The Del McCoury Band and country singer/songwriter Rodney Crowell. The free event at the Ryman Auditorium begins at 3:30 p.m. Want less noise and more policy? Before the concert, Edwards is holding a press conference at noon to announce his details of his rural recovery plan at the Nashville Farmer’s Market.

Otherwise, it’s a light day for the campaigns. Here’s where other presidential candidates will be today:

* Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) will also be in Tennessee — about three hours east from Edwards in Memphis — delivering the second of three major policy speeches this month. This one focuses on economic policy, specifically taxes, trade and curtailing government spending.

* After spending the weekend campaigning in “The Sunshine State,” Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) jets to Wisconsin to host his Milwaukee-area kickoff at the Milwaukee Theater at 6 p.m.
