One thing for sure, this race is going to be a far different one from what HRC might have anticipated even a few months ago. Here’s what I wrote on that score for Time.com.
It also strikes me that her disastrous foray into health care might not be the political liability it once was. These days, she talks about it almost apologetically, for instance using this line in her 2006 campaign bio video:
A lot of people know that I was involved in health care back in ’93 and ’94, and I still have the scars to show for it.
But the health care problem–higher costs, more people uninsured–has only gotten worse since then, and even Arnie is talking about the need for a fix that is not all that different from what Hillary was proposing then.
