Hugh Hewitt clarifies what the Bush Administration means by “surge”, suggesting of the new Apple “iPhone”:

I think this is brilliant. Forget more troops: MORE GADGETS! It’s got to be more popular with voters. And, really, what better way to distract the next generation of Iraqis from the disintegration of their country than a game of Tetris? If nothing else, there are sure to be more hangings to film.

Seriously, though, have we learned nothing from the failure of LBJ’s “Rock’em Sock’em Robots Drop” in 1970?
